~ you win again ~

“If we ever find ourselves defending a position or justifying anything, it means we have been defeated. It means we have not been able to accept anothers point of view, or the fact that we may be wrong. Fear has conquered our mind and our heart. Our defences are up and we are running scared. It's not that the other person has conquered us, it's the self-created fear that is in control. Until we can accept the other (we don't have to agree) and we are not threatened by the other, our victories will be delayed. It's a funny old world when true winning is accepting not resisting, when victory is found in the wisdom to stop fighting and to begin engaging.”

In other words we might describe ourselves as pretty powerless over others. In essence we don’t really have any power over others, or places and things. It took me a long time to realise the world is just the way it is. We make choices when we are able, we get bogged down in argument when we try to make the world in our understanding, to will it to our way. There is never any chance our world will be willed our way. By accepting the world as is, and our understanding of it, continually informed from our experiences, we make choices to the good.

The perfect world in which we live, an unfinished work forever and forever. We can work with it, and make good our life, or work against it and waste our life. We choose as we find and live with the consequences. So many of us get caught in the trap of ego, where we believe we are right and the rest of the world is at odds with us. What Folly!

We learn and survive, move on and make good, or die a little each day as we fail to get our own way. Tough life choices? Not really when we understand our right size and apply ourselves accordingly.
